Alexandros Chasapis
About CV Research Teaching Contact

Alexandros Chasapis is a research scientist at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado Boulder. His first contact with space plasma physics was during his undergraduate studies in Physics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. Continuing down that path, he got his first experience working with spacecraft data during his Masters in Astronomy & Astrophysics at the Observatoire de Paris. He obtained his PhD from the Université Paris-Sud in 2015, carrying out research on magnetic reconnection and turbulence with multi-spacecraft observations from ESA’s Cluster mission. He joined Magnetospheric MultiScale mission as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Delaware, before coming to LASP in 2019, where is working with NASA’s Parker Solar Probe, Magnetospheric MultiScale, and MAVEN missions. His current research is focused on using multi-spacecraft observations to understand plasma turbulence and particle acceleration throughout the solar system.
